في أفق العمل على تحقيق تنمية حقيقية يشارك الشباب في بنائها، تأتي هذه المجموعة لتلبية حاجة ملحة إلى حشد الطاقات الشابة المنخرطة في الهم الشبابي العالمي، ولوضع الشباب المغربي في قلب الفعل التنموي عبر تجميع أعضاء "تيغ" بالمملكة المغربية على أساس أن يوضع برنامج عمل يشترك كل الشباب في صياغته.
إن تحديات الألفية الحالية التي تمتد لتشمل كل مجالات التنمية الثقافية، الاجتماعية والاقتصادية، لا يمكنها أن ترفع إلا بوجود الشباب في قلبها بالتخطيط والإشراف وتتبع التنفيذ، ونؤمن عاليا أن الشباب المغربي قادر على تحمل مسؤوليته بهذا الصدد.

 الأهداف

- تجميع أعضاء TIGبالمملكة المغربية ضمن إطار رسمي مستقل مرتبط ببرامج Taking It Global
- تسطير برنامج عمل في أفق تأسيس "شبكة تيغ المغرب" خلال أجل يمتد إلى سنة واحدة على الأكثر
- خلق مجموعة عمل تمتد على كافة التراب الوطني لنشر فكرة الشبكة، ولتعبئة الموارد.

 السياق العام

في خضم الالتزامات الدولية وتوصيات المؤتمرات الشبابية المنعقدة في كافة أرجاء العالم، وضمن مبادرة TIG لتقوية الحركة الشبابية عبر التكنولوجيا، تأتي مبادرة أعضاء منظمة TIG بالمملكة المغربية لربط الشباب المغربي بالمحيط الدولي وخدمة قضايا التنمية في المملكة، ولعب دور أساي في بناء المجتمع وتقوية روح التطوع من أجل غد أفضل.
يتوقع من عمل الشبكة بالمملكة المغربية أن يلامس كل القضايا المرتبطة بتحقيق أهداف الألفية للتنمية التي تشتمل على:

الهدف 1: القضاء على الفقر المدقع والجوع.
الهدف 2: تحقيق تعميم التعليم الابتدائي
الهدف 3: تعزيز المساواة بين الجنسين وتمكين المرأة
الهدف 4: تخفيض معدل وفيات الأطفال
الهدف 5: تحسين الصحة النفاسية
الهدف 6: مكافحة فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية/الإيدز والملاريا وغيرهما من الأمراض
الهدف 7: كفالة الاستدامة البيئية
الهدف 8: إقامة شراكة عالمية من أجل التنمية

 السياق الخاص

إن أحد أهم الدوافع خلف تأسيس شبكة TIG بالمملكة المغربية يأتي انطلاقا من انخفاض مستوى المشاركة الشبابية في الشأن العام، واعتمادا على المبادرات التنموية التي يتبناها المجتمع المغربي المتمثلة في:

- المبادرة الوطنية للتنمية البشرية
- التزامات المغرب خلال المؤتمر العالمي للشباب المنعقد سنة 2003 بالدار البيضاء

ثم إن الشبكة تأتي لتلبية الحاجة إلى العمل التطوعي والتأسيس لخدمات الشباب التي تهدف إلى دعم المجتمعات المحلية و تطويرها وخدمة قضاياها ضمن إطاراتها الوطنية والدولية.

نحن الشباب المجتمعين في ملتقى الشباب شمال جنوب، المنعقد تحت الرعاية السامية لصاحب الجلالة الملك محمد السادس نصره الله و أيده ، بمدينة الرباط في الفترة : من 19 إلى 22 غشت 2007 ، تحت شعار " شباب.. تواصل.. تنمية" ؛ المنحدرين من كافة جهات وأقاليم المملكة ؛ بما يناهز 250 من كلا الجنسين و الفئات العمرية ما بين 18 و 35 سنة.
إذ نعي شروط مرحلة التحول الهامة التي يمر بها مشروعنا الوطني على طريق بناء المجتمع الديموقراطي الحداثي ؛ على هدي القيادة الرشيدة لصاحب الجلالة الملك محمد السادس نصره الله و أيده ، و بفضل ما تلهم به وتقدمه للشباب المغربي باستمرار في هذا السبيل ، من قدوة في المثابرة و الجد ، وما تذكيه في النفوس من روح البذل والعطاء ، لخير الأمة و صالح الوطن والمواطن ، حاضراً ومستقبلا ؛

و إذ نستحضر و ندرك أهمية المناسبة الوطنية و التاريخية التي نجتمع في إطارها ، و نستلهم من إحياء قيمها و تخليد رموزها و معانيها ، و هي عيد الشباب المجيد ذكرى، وما تمثله في سجل التاريخ الإنساني ، من مثالية التلاحم ما بين العرش و الشعب ، في معارك التحرر و الوحدة والبناء ؛
و إذ نقدر أبعاد ما ترومه و ترمي إليه " المبادرة الوطنية للتنمية البشرية " التي أبدعها و شرع أوراشها و عمم مشاريعها جلالة الملك محمد السادس نصره الله وأيده، بما تشكله من رؤية متكاملة للخروج من معضلة الواقع المتعدد الاحتياجات ، و ما تفتحه من آفاق التقدم والتطور للمجتمع المغربي، بتضافر جهوده و تلاحم سائر فئاته و مكوناته ؛ وما تتيحه للطاقات الشبابية من فرص الإبداع و الإنجاز ، بتفاعل إيجابي مع ظروفه و معطيات بيئته و عصره ؛
و إذ نعتز بمنجزات الشباب المغربي في هذا الملتقى ، و ما أبان عنه من قوة الإرادة و روح المسؤولية و الرغبة الجادة في الانخراط الملتزم و الكلي في العمل التنموي ، كما تفتح آفاقه المبادرة ُالوطنية للتنمية البشرية ، و ذلك ضمن فعالياته المختلفة ، بما فيها ندوة حول مشروع الحكم الذاتي للأقاليم الجنوبية من خلال تمثلات الشباب، أوراش موضوعاتية حول : دعم المؤسسات التنموية في دعم الشباب، الشباب المغربي و المشاركة في صنع القرار، الشباب و الاعلام، آليات إدماج الشباب في في السياسات التنموية، الشباب و المشاركة السياسية، الشباب و الهجرة، دور الرياضة في التنمية الاجتماعية و كذا التنمية الذاتية، و هو ما جعل من شعار هذا الملتقى ، تجربة حية و ملموسة على أرض الواقع ؛
نعلن ما يلي :
ــــ ضرورة تفعيل الخطاب الملكي السامي، الموجه إلى القمة الإفريقية الثانية للشباب الرائد، المنعقدة بجامعة الأخوين، بإفران في الفترة ما بين 18 و 23 غشت 2005، و الذي أكد فيه جلالته أن إدماج النسيج الجمعوي بصفة عامة ، والجمعيات الشبابية على الخصوص، يعد أحد المحاور الحيوية التي ينبغي الارتكاز عليها ، لبلوغ أهداف الألفية من أجل التنمية .
ــــ التأكيد على حيوية تشكيل هيئة وطنية دائمة للشباب، على شاكلة مجلس أعلى للشباب تكون الإطار المؤسسي لتوحيد و تجنيد الجمعيات الشابة المغربية بكل مكوناتها و حساسياتها حول قضاياهم و قضايا الأمة الكبرى كما جاء في التوصيات المتضمنة لبيان العيون يناير 2007.
ــــ التثمين الكامل و التقدير التام لما حققته المبادرة الوطنية للتنمية البشرية من برامج مرحلية في كافة المجالات، و خاصة منها الاجتماعية و الاقتصادية، و ما بعثته مجدداً في الإنسان المغربي تبعاً لذلك، من مشاعر الطموح والكرامة والثقة في الذات و الجماعة؛ مما جعل من كافة ربوع المملكة أوراشاً تنموية متقاطعة ومتكاملة، مفتوحة على كل الفئات الاجتماعية و المجالات الترابية.
ــــ التزام الشباب المغربي بأداء الدور المنوط به في بناء مجتمع سليم و متوازن ، و ذلك بالانخراط الكلي في مقتضيات المبادرة الوطنية للتنمية البشرية ، مسخراً في ذلك كل الطاقات و الإمكانات المادية و المعنوية ، مستوفياً كافة القدرات النظرية والعملية ، في الإبداع و في الأداء على السواء ؛ على أساس من قيم التضامن والتعاضد والتسامح ، و وفق منظور ديموقراطي حداثي متفتح .
ــــ ضرورة التوعية و الوعي بمكانة الفاعل الجمعوي ، و بدوره في الريادة التحديثية للمجتمع، و إيلاء كامل الاعتبار لتراكم الخدمة و الخبرة في هذا المجال ، على غرار ما يولى لنظير ذلك في مجالات أخرى .
ــــ تجديد الدعوة إلى كافة الشباب المغربي خاصة ، و إلى مكونات الأمة جمعاء ، بقصد الالتزام و الإغناء و التفعيل ، بكل وطنية و إخلاص ، لمبادئ و مقتضيات المبادرة الوطنية للتنمية البشرية ، باعتبارها ملحمة بناء مجتمعي و مبعث فخار ، على غرار ما خاضه العرش و الشعب من ملاحم خالدة ، و ما سجله من أمجاد وبطولات في تاريخه الحضاري المديد .
ــــ ضرورة التجند و اتخاذ الآليات لتفعيل دور الشباب في كافة الهيئات و المؤسسات و المنظمات على المستوى الوطني و الجهوي ، و إفساح المجال الواسع أمامه من أجل انخراط فاعل ، في السيرورة التنموية و الشراكة في اتخاذ القرار .
ــــ التشبث بالمكتسبات الوطنية في الوحدة و التعددية و الديموقراطية في ظل الملكية الدستورية، بالقيادة الرشيدة لصاحب الجلالة الملك محمد السادس نصره الله؛ ضماناً لمجتمع العدالة و المساواة و كرامة الوطن و المواطن، تجسيداً لشعار الملتقى: شباب.. تواصل.. تنمية.

الشباب المشارك في ملتقى الشباب شمال جنوب

بدون مقدمات، سأبدأمن خلاصة لازلت أقتنع بها وهي أن الحركة الشبابية المغربية لاتعبر عن كل الطاقة الشبابية المغربية كما وكيفا، ورغم أن الحركات والجمعيات والمنظمات الأهلية العاملة بحقل الشباب تتناسل يوما عن يوم، فهي حتى اللحظة عاجزة عن احتواء كل الطاقات الشبابية، بل حتى عن بذر روح العمل التطوعي في ذهنية الشاب المغربي
عادة لا أكون قاتما ومتشائما، وذلك ما يجعلني أعتقد أن حال الحركة الشبابية النغربية أحسن حالا بالمقارنة مع عدد من دول العالم الثالث والعالم العربي، لكن بالمقارنة مع انتظارات الشباب المغربي، وما يستطيع تقديمه فعليا، والطاقات التي يتوفر عليها، فأنا بكل بساطة أستغرب البطئ الذي تتطور به هذه الحركة التي ينتظر منها أن تكون فاعلا أساسيا داخل المجتمع على جميع الأصعدة، فمنذ سنوات ونحن نسمع عن المشاريع المعدة من أجل الشباب، ونقرئ عن المؤتمرات التي تنعقد أكثر من مرة في السنة تحت مسميات عدة، وبالفعل خناك نتائج جيدة، لكنه غير متناسبة وعمر وتجربة الحركة الشبابية المغربية، ولا مع التوصيات التي تخرج بها هذه المؤتمرات، في بداية هذه السنة، شاركنا كحركات شبابية مغربية لأول مرة في مؤتمر ضم ما يمكن وصفها أكبر المنظمات الشبابية في المغرب، كان ذلك في الملتقى الوطني للشباب الذي انعقد بمدينة العيون في الفترة من 9 إلى 12 يناير 2007 وذلك تحت شعار ": { الشباب المغربي في خدمة المبادرة الوطنية للتنمية البشرية } بمشاركة 350 شاب وشابة ينتمون لمختلف جهات المملكة وتتراوح أعمارهم بين 18 و 35 سنة.
وأعتبر أن هذا الملتقى عرف أهم توصية صدرت عن جميع ملتقيات الشباب بالمغرب وهي التوصية بخلق المجلس الوطني الأعلى للشباب، فوجود مثل هذه المؤسسة كفيل بتفعيل الترسانة القانونية المتعلقة بالشباب وتعزيزها من جهة ثانية، وأهم شيئ هي أنها التزام مشترك للشباب المغربي بتسيير شأنه بنفسه
أتذكر في أنه في حوار قصير مع الشاب: عبد العالي مستور رئيس منتدى المواطنة، قال لي بأن من أهداف المنتدى أن يخلق دينامية شبابية كالتي خلقتها الحركة النسوية بالمغرب، هذا الحديث أثار شجوني وجعلني أتأمل، لو أن هذا يتحقق،،، ماذا سيكون عليه الحال؟ إن هذا السؤال يجعل كل واحد منا يستشرف صورة مستقلة تتناسب ووجهات نظره، ومع الأسف فإن أفضل ما تطمح له القيادات الشابة المغربية، لايعد محط ثقة لدى كثير من الشباب، بل هو في نظر الكثيرين مجرد أحلام وردية ستكون منقوصة حتى وإن حدثت، والخلل هنا ليس فقط في عدم الثقة لدى الشباب المغربي، ولكن في إخفاقات الحركة الشبابية المغربية التي تشترك عدة عوامل في تشكيلها، وأهم عامل هو قلة إلى انعدام التنسيق بين هذه الحركات، وانعزال الكثير منها عن ما يجري في العالم الخارجي، فأنا مثلا لا أجد لأنشطتها صدى على هذا الموقع، علما بأنه أكبر شبكة اتصال بين القيادات الشابة العالمية، بل لا أكاد أجد أيا من المنظماتالشبابية المغربية البارزة تعتمد استراتيجية في التعامل مع الشباب على الإنترنت، بما فيها التي أنا عضو فيها، "منتدى الشباب المغربي للألفية الثالثة" وللصدق، فقد كانت هناك محاولات، لكنها كانت تعتمد أسلوب الاعتماد على مهارة فردية دون وضع خطة لتكوين مهارات فردية وجماعية تكفل الاستمرارية
أعتقد أن الوقت الحالي هو أفضل مرحلة للتفكير في تطوير الحركة الشبابية المغربية ودخول مرحلة الاستراتيجيات القائمة على دراسات واستراتيجيات لا تسقط البعد الدولي من عينها

Goalsetting - Getting Started

Write a list of what you want to achieve this year.

Make sure what you've written down is specific, measurable and attainable. Eg. Lose 5 kgs by 30th April.

Write no. 1 against the most important goal. Write no. 2 against the next most important goal.

Continue numbering the rest of the goals.

Look at the goal with no. 1 next to it. ie. Lose 5 kilos. Start a separate list with the heading Lose 5 kilos by 30th April.

Write down the action steps you need to take to achieve this goal:

Decide which specific days and times you will attend


Purchase gym gear


See nutritionist




Enter the action steps into your diary/electronic organiser on the day/s you will do these:




Jan 15th - join gym


Jan 16th - book nutritionist


Attend gym Monday/Wednesday/Friday at 6.00 a.m.




Ensure when you book time for yourself in your diary you treat it as a top priority. Unless there is an earthquake or equally devastating disaster occurring, keep that time sacred.

To ensure your goalsetting is successful, it is imperative to write your goals first and then plan the appropriate steps to take in your diary. Otherwise your goals could end up being wishful thinking!

Goal/Dream Chart

Having visual reminders is a valuable part of the goalsetting process. It's a great way to prompt and keep you motivated to follow through. Cut out a picture of the body you'd like to have from a magazine and stick a photo of your head on top of it. Alternatively if you want to recapture the way you were some time ago, find an old photo of yourself. You can place these on your desktop, car dashboard and the fridge at home.

Do this for your other goals (minus the head). In fact having a dream chart with pictures or words of the things you want to achieve is a great stimulus for your sub-conscious mind. Sticking these reminders onto green paper is even more effective. I have one of these in my office and guess what? It actually works!

Action Is The Key

Once you've identified what you want, written it down, planned when you will take action and done your goal/dream chart, nothing will happen unless you get off your butt and take action towards those goals.

Avoid the 'Too Much Too Soon' Syndrome

Often people try making many changes at once then get disillusioned because there are too many things to do and just give up. If you've done this in the past, tackle one goal at a time. If you really have difficulty going it alone, you may benefit from using the services of a life coach like myself who will keep you on track.

Dare to Fail

In Billi Lim's bestselling book "Dare to Fail" he shares the following story:

A woman once walked up to a little old man rocking in a chair on his porch.

"I couldn't help noticing how happy you look", she said. "What's the secret for a long happy life?'

"I smoke three packs of cigarettes a day', he said. "I also drink a case of whisky a week, eat fatty foods and never exercise."

"That's amazing, the woman said. "How old are you?"

"Twenty-six", he said.

The Final Word On Goalsetting

You too can achieve your goals if you really want to. The goals you set must fit in with your values. For instance if you really value your health and well-being (and you should…you're no good to anyone if you're sick or even worse…dead,) then it will be easier for you to take action around this area.

Goalsetting is an ongoing process. Plan and get off your butt now to achieve what you want in your life otherwise you could get stuck in the usual rut and before you know it, another year has passed by.

If you gather 100 experienced leaders together to share with you their most important secrets for success, you probably wouldn’t hear a lot of academic theory or jargon. Instead, this is a good idea of what you’d hear:

1) Put ethics first. If you make unethical decisions for short-term gain, you will lose in the end. Let your principles guide you in the many decisions you must make regarding business practices and people. You will regret it if you don’t.

2) Surround yourself with the best people you can find. If you are able to attract the brightest, most dedicated, most talented people, they will move your organization forward. Leverage their skills, ideas and creativity… your people are your greatest asset.

3) Show your staff you value them personally. Research shows the personal relationship with a direct manager is the key for retaining your best and your brightest. Don’t ever withhold your praise. Tell them why you value them and recognize their contributions.

4) Be trustworthy. Be fair in your dealings with others. Don’t show favoritism. Remember you must always walk your talk. Your actions speak louder than your words. Don’t ask others to do what you can’t or won’t do. You can’t lead if others don’t trust you.

5) Develop Win-Win-Win Solutions. Your company will only grow if you can provide valuable services that help your clients succeed. In the meantime, you must help your staff achieve their goals, and the organization must grow. A win-win-win approach means you create solutions and services that support the best interests of your client, your staff and your company. If one of these elements is missing, your business won’t grow. Don’t try to shortchange one element to the benefit of the other.

You never know what will take off on the Internet.... Last month, some folks on Hornby Island, BC in Canada put a webcam in a bald eagle's nest. Since then, there has been an EXPLOSION of viewers - now up to 2 million per day - watching the eagles and waiting for the eggs to hatch.

I find it pretty relaxing to watch. Now we just need to put a microphone up there for next year...

You know you are getting older when colleagues you consider friends and mentors start to pass away.

I was very sad this morning to hear from friends in South Africa that Dave MacDevette died on Friday while rock climbing near his home in Cape Town. Dave was founder and president of Empowerment for African Sustainable Development (EASD).

I first met Dave through my boss at IISD. They had worked together in Fiji 15 years or so ago. When I met him, he was doing a lot on African environmental information systems and state of the environment reporting. He and his wife Monika had a house in Nairobi and were both doing contracts with UNEP. I stayed with them there for a few days on my way back from a GKP meeting in Ethiopia and lent Dave a hand at a meeting at UNEP on developing a capacity building strategy. We had a great time talking about life, the universe and everything while having a drink on his deck and watching the monkeys in the trees.

One of the things I always admired about Dave was his commitment to young people - both his own sons and other young South Africans. When he moved back to Cape Town more full time a few years ago, he was very excited about being able to surf and climb with his sons. And he was excited about raising funds through EASD to support the ideas and research of all of the motivated young people he kept meeting in S Africa. It was through Dave that IISD was able to find first Chris Higgo and later Steve Vosloo to work with us on the Information Society and Sustainable Development project.

Dave will be very missed.

I'm a bit slow on this posting... but it's taken me a couple of weeks to get used to doing everything one-handed :-)

Simon Angelo was born on August 27, 2005 at 5:47 AM(at 41w1d). He weighed 8 lbs, 2 oz when he was born and was just under 21" long. He's been an absolute joy - super mellow so far about everything. I'm really looking forward to having the next year off from work to get to know him and watch him grow up and discover everything.

Labour and delivery was a bit of a long haul with complications popping up off and on over a couple of days. Our midwife and the hospital medical team worked incredibly well together through all of it. There is a part of me which is amazed that I made it (until the emergency surgery at the end) without any drugs whatsoever. It's incredible the degree to which skilled coaching can help you to manage pain and your perceptions of it. And (of course) a special thanks to Linda for being such an amazing partner in all ways.

In the spirit of TakingITGlobal, I also wanted to note how truly global the whole birth was... Our midwife (from Winnipeg) was trained in Wales. The second midwife (originally from Ghana) also trained in London (her aunt, also a nurse at the hospital, was previously a midwife in Ghana). The charge nurse (who helped with labour coaching) was from Zimbabwe. The emergency team that took over was led by a Chinese ob/gyn. In the meantime, my parents from the US and Linda's dad (from Egypt), and his partner were all waiting anxiously in the waiting room.

It's amazing how much babies can pull the world together....

I was shocked this morning to read the news of the assassination of Brother Roger, the 90-year old founder of the Taize Community in France. He harbored Jewish refugees during the Nazi occupation of France during World War II, then built the ecumenical Taize Community with a mission to reconcile all denominations of Christians and promote dialogue and peace. A mentally ill woman slit his throat with a knife during an ecumencial prayer service Tuesday night in front of approximately 2500 (mostly young) people.

Part of what hit me so hard about this was that on Tuesday, I was just looking at the Taize site for music to download and play on my computer during labour (whenever this baby decides to be born). I hadn't looked at the site in a few years, so I don't know why I ended up there on Tuesday. When I was a grad student in Oxford, I used to get up early a few mornings per week and go to the Anglican church for sunrise Taize services. They were always so quiet and peaceful with everyone singing along to the short repetitive prayers in many different languages. Growing up Catholic, I always loved the ones in Latin (e.g. Nada Te Turbe). Most of all, though, I've always been impressed with the Taize spirit of creativity, generosity and compassion.

It's sad to lose a man who has given so much to make that a reality....
